The par can itself is just fine, but be prepared to take the thing apart and re-assemble it before use. My three cans didn't work when i took them out of their boxes, and i soon found out why: most of the screws were loose, including the ones that clamped the wires into the ceramic bases (which were of excellent quality). Since these cans were made in the PRC (People's Republic of China?), i imagined some disgruntled and bored worker sitting at a bench, assembling his ten-thousandth par can, and just sort-of throwing the the thing together...Feature Overall Value Quality
Once re-assembled, the cans worked fine. I appreciated the high-quality ceramic base, the equally high-quality thumb wheels for adjusting tilt, the excellent cord and plug, they way the thing was designed in general, and the included gel-frame. Low marks go to the metal used for several of the other parts, including the mounting hoop that attaches to the clamp, and the overly flexible plate for affixing the ceramic base within the lamp.
